Pulau Redang Airport is a relatively small airport on the island of Redang in Malaysia. Redang Island Airport is more of a runway than an airport. The only airlines operating Redang Airport is Berjaya Air. They fly with a Bombardier. The Pulau Redang Airport was opened by Berjaya Air and this airport is located near Taaras Beach & Spa Resort (formerly the Berjaya Redang Spa Resort).
Berjaya's service is fine. During the flight from Singapore you get a small snack (a small hot dog). The flight is so short that the stewardesses do not have much to do, so they spend their time talking to the passengers.
Berjaya Air is the only airline to offer direct flights from Singapore Changi Airport Budget Terminal and Kuala Lumpur's Subang Airport to the beautiful island. The flying time from Berjaya Air from Kuala Lumpur (Sebang Airport) to Redang Island is about one hour and from Singapore you can fly to Pulau Redang in 80 minutes. A single trip from Kuala Lumpur to Redang Island Airport costs you about 50 Euro and from Singapore to Redang Airport it costs about 75 Euro. There's only one fly a day from Kuala Lumpur and from Singapore to Redang.
The airport has only one building without air conditioning, in which two separate halls are located. One before arrival and one before departure. At the airport there are two shops, which sell souvenirs. The luggage of the passengers is collected by the baggage crew and taken to the arrival hall, from where the passengers can pick up their luggage.

The Airport
There are no conveyor belts for the luggage so that the passengers can take the bags by themselves. After picking up the luggage and completing the immigration forms, the passengers can go outside. The cars are there ready to take them to their respective resorts.
Most of the resorts on Redang Island are not located near the airport. There is a only single road from the airport to some of the resorts and also to the fishing port. If you want to get to another resort/ hotel from Pulau Redang Airport, for example at Long Beach, you need to rent a car and ferry to reach your destination at Long Beach.
Some resorts use public jetty services from the jetty Shahbandar in Kuala Terengganu, which sails to the jetty of Kampung Baru at Redang. Here the passengers have to transfer to the boats, which go to the different resorts. In most cases, the cost of the ferry is included in the package price of the resort.
There are no roads on the island that connect the various beaches. Usually the boats leave for Redang in the morning. Be well informed by the hotel / resort. If you come too late and you are the only one, you will have lost about 100 Euro for the passage.
