MAS WINGS

MASwings, Malaysia 's first commuter airline was officially launched on 1 October 2007. It caters to the air travel needs of Sarawak and Sabah's travelling population by providing affordable fares, convenient schedule and connections within the two states in the Malaysian Borneo.

Being a subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, MASwings takes advantage of its link with Malaysia's national carrier to provide Sabah and Sarawak with greater connectivity to the global network already serviced by Malaysia Airlines.

The amount of checked baggage that you can take with you free of charge is determined according to either the number of pieces or the weight. The ‘allow’ box on your paper ticket indicates which of these concepts apply to your baggage allowance. On your e-ticket, this is indicated in the ‘baggage’ box.

The MASwings Online Booking Facility enables you to book and purchase ticket(s) on a MASwings flight directly, via the Internet. All you need  is a printer.

The Main Hub of Maswings is Miri (Sarawak). The secondary hubs are Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.
MASwings has two kind of planes. Or your flying an ATR 72-500 (to important destinations), or your flying a Twin Otter (to destinations in the mountains of Sarawak). It depends on the plane, how much weight (baggage) you can take with you.

When you're plane is an ATR 72-500 your baggage limit is: Business Class 30 kg (66 lbs) - Economy Class 20 kg (44 lbs). The capacity of this plane is 68 passengers.

When you're flying with a Twin Otter you baggage limit is: Business Class is not applicable - Economy Class 10 kg (22 lbs). The capacity of this plane is 19 passengers.

On the Route Map you can see, which plane is a ATR 72-500  or a Twin Otter.  The Route map was too large to put it on this page. So <click here> to see the large Route Map!

New destinations this year are Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei), Tarakan and Pontianak (both in Indonesia). In the future they want to fly to Balikpapan in Kalimantan in Indonesia. In the Philippines to Davao, Puerto Princessa and Zamboanga .
