When you travel by bus, it will take a little bit longer.
For example: When I travel by car from KL to Penang it takes about 4 hours. The (NICE) bus will take 4 ½ hours, because it makes one stop. If an "interliner" takes more stops, then it will last longer.  
Btw: all buses have air-conditioning.
