It’s probably easier to learn how to sail than you think. You can learn through an organized program or on your own. With us you can get started learning the main parts of a sailboat and the use of each, from sails to rigging to rudder. Learn the basics of sailing at different angles to the wind, handling the boat, turning and stopping, and leaving and returning to the beach.

The NE monsoon is the season for advanced sailors, windsurfers and kiters, with winds pushing 20 knots or more and a sea heaving with 2m swell or higher that has a habit of breaking both far out and closer to shore. In other words, these NE months bring conditions that are challenging enough even for hard-core sailors, windsurfers and kiters.

The SW monsoon is a milder wind of about 15 knots max. It does occasionally exceed this, but generally it is a more sedate breeze, ideal for long cruising, windsurfing or kiting runs.

It should come as no surprise to learn that the SW monsoon is also the best season to learn how to sail, windsurf or kite-surf, because the waters tend to be sheltered and calm.

So come on, pick your poison: Laser, Optimist or 420, there's various sail boat models on offer, including even a trimaran.

Rahim, our seasoned instructor is very versed in teaching newbies how to sail and will have you on your way on your own before you can say "Starboard!". N.B. Try one of our great value island-hopping sailing packages!
